As we begin to tell the stories afield, I knew that it was also important that the small details, when they arise, are also told from somewhere more official. Up until this point, I’d sit on the couch or at the bar top in my home and just record a short video, and in my mind, that only goes so far — and needed to stop.
I believe it is fitting that Gray Light has a small, yet official place to talk about what we are doing and add a bit more context here to what we are actually doing. So, with an idea in mind, I told Wyatt my plans and we began to dream up a bit of a plan in order to build a reality. We have an extra bonus room in our home that wasn’t being utilized for anything at all! We took advantage of this neat little area to make it a part of our founding story. Not only that, but it is incredibly convenient to have a talking point or idea and simply walk into the room upstairs and take care of it on the spot!
A few trips to a reclaimed wood shop, more trips to Home Depot, and a bit of good old-fashioned ingenuity with a measure-twice-and-cut-once mindset, Wyatt and I constructed Gray Light’s official presentation studio!
We have since then added some directional lighting and what I would like to think is a pretty cool slab of stone atop a weathered wooden countertop. It is simple, yet effective, and just like everything else within this company, it is something that we have built ourselves with heart and by hand.
I believe everything is a labor of love, and when we care about something deeply enough, there is no way that it cannot come out exactly how you desire it to be. We did take a leap in building a few custom LED logo signs, of which I am pretty happy with. You can look forward to many, many updates being videoed from this backdrop, and we appreciate you taking the time to read along on our journey as we build a best-in-class company from the ground up!
